Moore sweeps Fall Nationals with Rislone USCS Modified Touring Series
win at Riverside on Saturday
West Memphis, AR - November 14, 2009 - Chris Moore from Nesbit, Mississippi continued his USCS win streak by capturing the Modified portion of the Hensley Suzuki USCS Fall Nationals presented by Union Auto Parts at Riverside International Speedway on Saturday night. The win in the 35-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series presented by Parts Plus Championship and season finale was Moore’s second USCS victory in as many days. Moore also won the Rislone USCS Modified Weekly Racing Series event on Friday night as well.
Moore started in the fourteenth position for the series longest race of the year and worked his way steadily to the front to lead the final 17 laps. The current Rislone USCS Modified Touring Series point’s leader, Hunter Rasdon from Jonesboro, Arkansas rallied from his 23rd starting position to finish in the runner-up spot.. He got into the main event by using his first provisional of the year. 2006 Series Champion, Ben Reed from Munford,, Tennessee finished in the third position . Casey Rowland from Nesbit, Mississippi advanced from eighth place to finish fourth. The August 6, 2009 Riverside Speedway Rislone USCS Modifed feature winner, Tony Anglin from Walnut Ridge, Arkansas rounded out the top five.
Defending Rislone USCS Modified Champion, Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee finished in the sixth position followed by Craig Vaughn in seventh place. Richard Kinney from Bells, Tennessee finished in the eighth position. Rusty Stagen from Oakland, Tennessee finished ninth and Charlie Turner from Jonesboro, Arkansas rounded outthe top ten finishers.
Ben Reed recorded the fastest time duing the group time trial qualifying session. He followed the fast time with a win in the six-lap Rislone Power Dash for the top six cars from the previous event. Winners of the two 10-lap Rislone USCS Modified Qualifying Races were Robert Baker from Jonesboro, Arkansas and Dalton Alexander from West Memphis, Arkansas.
Hunter Rasdon garnered the Comp Cams Hardcharger Award after passing twenty-one cars in the main event. Jerry Jackson received the K&N Filters Pole award. Moore captures Rislone USCS WRS MOD event at Riverside on Friday
West Memphis, AR - November 13, 2009 – Chris Moore from Nesbit, Mississippi won the 25-lap Rislone USCS Modified Series presented by Parts Plus www.uscsracing.com Weekly Racing Series event on Friday night at Riverside International Speedway. Moore followed early race leaders Randy Weaver and Dalton Alexander before grabbing the led on the ninth circuit around the ¼ mile Gumbo clay oval. Moore then raced the final 16 laps to victory lane.
Rusty Stagen from Oakland, Tennessee finished in the runner-up spot followed by Steve Maisel, from Missouri. Brandon Poppenheimer from Nesbit, Mississippi was fourth and current Rislone USCS Modified points leader Hunter Rasdon from Jonesboro, Arkansas rounded out the top five.
Winners of the two 10-lap Rislone USCS Modified Qualifying Races were Steve Carter from Tempe, Arizona and Ben Reed from Munford, Tennessee. Action for the Rislone USCS Mods resumes on Saturday night (November 14th) in the USCS Fall Nationals 2009 finals at Riverside Speedway at 6:00 pm with a the Rislone Oil Stabilizer USCS Modified Touring Series points event.
Ben Reed from Munford, Tennessee finished in third place and Dalton Alexander from West Memphis, Arkansas was fourth, but, both cars were light at the scales.
